The stone holds the light late
Charente is a land of pale limestone, low valleys and villages where you can hear church bells. The houses there are wide, with sixty-centimetre walls that keep in the coolness in July and the warmth in January.
Angoulême is thirty minutes away, Bordeaux two hours by car, and Paris two hours by TGV. The Saturday market remains the village’s main gathering place, and it takes another three-quarters of an hour to get to the seaside.

Half of our buyers come from abroad. We work in French and English, and we remain on hand after the contract has been signed to help with tradespeople, administrative procedures and everything else.
